Wonderland Day 3

We only had a couple miles on our permit for Day 3 to get to Dick's Creek so we added mileage and did an out and back detour into Spray Park.  So glad we did this because it was truly a highlight of the trip.  We climbed from Cataract Valley up to the high point of Spray Park at 6400 feet.  We passed through verdent meadows, forests, granite and scree, snow fields, and back through meadows filled with wildflowers.  The trail took us the closest we've been to Mt. Rainier with stunning views. Seriously unbelievable.

Hey Bear!  Hey Bear!  He was eating berries and could care less about us.

That brown looking thing is the glacier.

This part of the trail was washed out and we had to climb up this rope to get back on the trail.  Yikes!

Made it to Dick's Creek after a long ass climb in the heat.  One of the gnarliest climbs of the whole trip.

Yeeesssss!

2 hour post prandial.  Good.  Pretty much all I have to do to have normal  blood sugar is do extreme exercise 8-12 hours a day.  No problem!  UGH.
